Atomic Layer Deposition: Russia – 2017

The First International Workshop “Atomic Layer Deposition: Russia, 2015” was successfully held in 2015 by our colleagues from MIPT (Moscow – Dolgoprudny). Today the method of ML-ALD is dynamically developing in many countries of the world. The ALD European Community (HERALD) was created. The big 16th Atomic Layer Deposition Conference in 2016 at the Tyndall National Institute (Dublin, Ireland) was held.

The International Workshop “Atomic Layer Deposition: Russia – 2017” is dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the birth of V. Aleskovskii – one of the world leaders in chemistry and technology of solids. In 1952 (exactly 65 years ago) he formulated the “framework” hypothesis, which is the basis for a new direction in the chemistry of solids and on the basis of which in the mid-sixties, he teamed up with S. Koltsov created a method of molecular layering (ML) – atomic layer deposition (ALD).

The aims of the Workshop “Atomic Layer Deposition: Russia – 2017” are more detail to familiarize the international community with the ideas of V. Aleskovskii and expanding of cooperation between Russian and foreign scientists engaged in ML-ALD.
